Marie Hayden

Marie’s journey through fitness started with her love for athletics as a youth. After her sports activities began to slow down the weight gain began… assisted by a few too many scoops of ice cream and orders of fries with gravy.

After always being fit, Marie took a keen interest in weight training to help shed those unwanted pounds. Marie continued to be passionate about fitness and utilized her skills to assist others along the way. She took an interest in naturopathic healing in part to help with her continued digestion issues such as bloating, pain, exhaustion, irritability and gas, which helped to reach a final diagnosis of multiple food intolerances/allergies. After years of misdiagnosis, Marie’s digestions issues were on the mend and now her path to wellness really progressed.

Eliminating her food intolerances helped to significantly boost her energy levels and get her back on track. Two pregnancies less than 16 months apart put a bump in the road, and unlike most fitness enthusiasts Marie was unable to exercise due to extreme low back pain and other complications. Frustrated by the common myths that she would lose weight “after delivering,” “while breastfeeding,” “after the first year,” Marie took control of the situation with multiple conferences and workshops that allowed her to reshape her body and then eagerly began to help others around her facing similar challenges.

Marie has also experienced Hormonal Imbalance and Hypothyroidism which has also led her to create the ReNEWU Plan. Message her for details and take control of your body!!

Gilian KilgourGilian Kilgour

Certified Dance,Pilates, Barre and Gyrotonic instructor

Ever since I was a little girl growing up in South Africa I wanted to be a ballet dancer. Upon graduating from the Art, Ballet and Music School in Johannesburg I entered the Professional Dance world. After several years as a Professional Dancer, I gained my Licentiate Teaching Certification in the Cecchetti Ballet Method as well as the Final Diploma. While teaching both Ballet and Contemporary Dance, I continued dancing as a Contemporary Dancer and eventually immigrated to Canada in 1981. In Canada I ran my own Dance School on Vancouver Island for 18 years. I then moved to Halifax where I became a certified  Stott Pilates Instructor, allowing me to transfer all my knowledge and love of dance into my Pilates instruction. Moving to Winnipeg in 2001, I taught Pilates full time and also received my Gyrotonic Certification. I moved to Vernon in 2010 where I have taught Pilates for the past 6 years. I’m now excited to continue my teaching adventure at Bliss Pilates at Hayden Fitness.

My Pilates qualifications include all levels of Mat, Reformer & Cadillac.  I instruct private, semi private & group classes with enthusiastic energy and a keen dancer’s eye for detail. I challenge my clients to work their bodies to maximum potential while making sure they are executing correct form and technique. This comes from my 35 plus years teaching and studying Dance, Pilates, Gyrotonics, Barre, Anatomy, Physiology and Body Mechanics.

Due to my unique teaching style and background, my classes are extremely popular and I look forward to working with you in the future.

Ashley Irving

As a former dancer Ashley has always had a passion for fitness. Earning a degree in kinesiology was just the start of her journey. Ashley started teaching barre, and through the training was introduced to Pilates. Recently completing her courses in mat, reformer and cadillac, Ashley is excited for a lifetime of learning. Check out Ashley’s classes for great flow and lots of variety.

Melissa Mitchell

I am compassionate and sensitive to the personal needs of my clients and want nothing more for them then success! With my upbeat attitude and persistent drive to achieve success, I focus on designing personalized workouts pertaining to my client’s needs. I am so very excited to train at Hayden Fitness Studio teaching Fitlicious & Mommylicious. As a recent post natal Mamma I am very familiar with getting back that pre baby body. If small group isn’t where you are at I can also train you privately 1:1 if you prefer.

Sean Ling

My first love is dance, and I’m fortunate to have had a career as a dancer. This is my 16th year of teaching Pilates and I’m still learning. Something that keeps me excited about teaching are the people. Everyone is different, has different goals, had a different day than the person next to them and yet in class they are all centering in on their body, it’s sensations and how it moves though space. They are empowering themselves and it’s a great thing to see.

Kessa Schroeder (Maternity Leave)

Kessa was born and raised in Vernon and has always had healthy influences around her.  She spent her childhood in the dance studio while accompanying her family to triathlons and her adult life as a dancer/surfer/yogini. She’s spent the last 12 years travelling around North America, teaching surf lessons in Hawaii and establishing and owning one of the first hot yoga studios in Atlantic Canada.

She enjoys being in a positive environment where people can learn, grow and cultivate a healthier way of living. She has a brilliant approach to assisting clients heal and progress through poses in small group and private sessions.
